Currants contain the same unknown toxin as grapes and raisins that causes acute kidney failure in dogs. Even small amounts can be fatal. This includes fresh currants, dried currants, and products containing them.

⚠️ Possible Symptoms

  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • lethargy
  • decreased urination
  • kidney failure

Seek immediate veterinary care. Kidney failure can occur within 24-72 hours.
